A Little Sparkle

Hey guys!

The manicure above was done using 2 coats of a polish by Bettina in #138. Then, I painted on the design with a olive colored magnetic polish by a no name brand. On top of that I used Revlon Gold Coin to add a little sparkle!

So if you are a CVS Beauty Club member, go check your email for that $3 off coupon and read about other great deals they are offering this week! I think I am going to go searching for those Revlon lip butters that everyone has been raving about!

Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

Revlon Facets of Fuchsia is turning out to be one of my new favorite nail polishes! I went searching at a few CVS locations after hearing such great things about this nail polish and after seeing swatches, I was blown away. There was only one left in the display I found it in so I snatched it up right away. I believe this was two coats but a third wouldn't have hurt.

Guy Meets Gal-veston

This is OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston from the Texas Collection. It is a red-orange with a slight pink tinted jelly based nail polish. I applied 4 coats and there is still a very visible nail line. However, this nail polish is super fun and really stands out!

I used Confetti Wedding White and Revlon Gold Coin to make the design on the accent nail!

Leopard Print (again?!)

OK, OK. So you are going to say, "Leopard print, again?! What is wrong with this girl?"

Well, I ordered the 25 piece Bundle Monster plate set and received it last week. I tried out a few of the designs over the weekend but I didn't take any pictures because: 1) I forgot and 2) I wasn't too happy with my color choices!

So that brings us to my current manicure. I wanted to do something simple and quick that I couldn't really mess up too much!

I applied two coats of Confetti Wedding White and then stamped the leopard print design from plate BM-221 with Revlon Gold Coin.

My Favorite Nail Polishes of the Year!

As a way to wrap up the year, I figured I would develop a list of my favorite polishes that I have acquired this year! These are not necessarily polishes that were released this year. They are just favorites out of the ones I purchased in 2010.

By the way, if I haven't already stated before, 2010 was the year I fell in love with nail polish! My polish stash has grown significantly this year!

This list is not in any certain order!

  • Milani Chantilly and Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure
  •  Sally Hansen Diamond (middle)
  •  Revlon Perplex (far left) and Milani Hi-Res (far right)
  •  OPI Banana Bandanna
  •  Milani Hi Tech
  •  Color Club Poptastic
  • Milani Gems and Wet n Wild Prancer

Sally Hansen Nail Prisms "Diamond" and "Imagine Coral", plus items added to my giveaway!

Sally Hansen Nail Prisms "Diamond" is a silver holographic nail polish. Above is three thin coats with Seche Vite on top! I absolutely love this nail polish although I do find is to be a little "90's tacky". Do I care though? NOOOOPPPEEE!!

Sally Hansen "Imagine Coral" is a bright, almost hot pink nail polish. It is a little brighter than what is showing up in the pictures. This is three coats. There is still a visible nail line which I am not liking very much but since this is a pretty color I will have to deal with it.

On the accent nail I added Wet n Wild "Dancer" which is pretty much the silver version of Prancer. I could not get my camera to capture this at all! Boo ;[

Sally Hansen "Diamond" and "Imagine Coral" are two of the polishes in my giveaway. As a reminder I am posting the pictures of the double packs below:

 "Cheerful Crimson" and "Diamond"

 "Imagine Coral" and "Always Ascher"

BUT WAIT! THERE IS MORE! =)
THE WINNER WILL ALSO WIN:

Revlon "Perplex", Wet n Wild "Comet" (gold version of "Prancer" and "Dancer") and Wet n Wild "Dancer" (pictured above [sort of lol] on top of "Imagine Coral")

For convenience I am going to put the form to enter below. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY ENTERED DO NOT ENTER AGAIN! I have your entried recorded, I am just adding this form again here so you all do not have to go back to the other post since everything is in this one! =]

REVLON PERPLEX SWATCH

Below are swatch pics of Revlon Perplex. This is two coats with one coat of Seche Vite. You could get away with one coat of Perplex but you may get some bald spots. I am really liking this color. I am a little disappointed, however, that the bottle shows more purple shimmer than what actually shows up on the nail ;/ This deep plum color is awesome either way though! (These pics are color accurate.)

Revlon Perplex...Plus Inexpensive Candles at Sears!

I just picked up Revlon Perplex at my local Duane Reade! It was in a display of 8 and was hidden behind a N.Y.C display. Luckily, I am stubborn and wouldn't leave the store without finding it first and my searching paid off!

Now, you may ask what is so special about this nail polish. Well, there is major rumors that Revlon Perplex is an almost exact dupe of Chanel Paradoxal. If you are like me, then I'm sure you wouldn't want to shell out the $23 for the Chanel. I was more than glad to pay just $4.79 for the Revlon version.

Swatches soon!

Next order of business: inexpensive candles.

While shopping curtain shopping with my mother at Sears last Friday, I came across the clearance section in the Home goods area. Now, I love candles so when I saw shelves full of candles I just had to rush over and smell every one of them! (Did I ever mention how much this annoys my boyfriend when we go shopping? ;D )

These candles were originally $9.99 each but were on sale for I believe it was $4.99. But get this! They took an extra 50% off at checkout so I basically got these 2 HUGE candles for the price of one ($4.99).

The two scents that I chose were the only two scents I could stand out of about 5 choices that were there.

Creamy Vanilla smells delicious. It smells like sugar cookies with a hint of vanilla frosting. YUMMMAAAYYY!

Holiday Spice has a smokey scent to it. It also smells very woodsy and I can definitely smell apples and cinnamon!
