Time for another Spotlight post! I want you all to check out Commander in Chic, a beauty blog written by the wonderful Kirsten!
For the new year, Kirsten and I decided to become "blogging buddies". As blogging buddies, Kirsten and I set goals for the year on what we want to accomplish in terms of our blog and social media. We bounce ideas off of each other and provide the encouragement and support to each other that we both need to keep our blogs running.
I encourage you all to check out her revamped blog (moved from tumblr). Leave her a comment and follow Commander in Chic for some wonderfully written posts. She is very informative and I know you won't be disappointed!

Cover Girl Crackle Ghost and Ulta Dance Teal Dawn
Last week I decided to search for more of these Cover Girl Crackle polishes being that I still haven't found the China Glaze version at Sally Beauty Supply. (By the way, I found another one today about 25 minutes from my house but they didn't have them either!)
Anyway, back to what I was saying...I headed over to Ebay and searched Cover Girl Crackle. What showed up was Cover Girl Crackle "Ghost" (white). I was lucky because the auction ended one hour after I found it. I bid and won for $4 and change plus $2.99 shipping. WOOHOO!
I layered Cover Girl Crackle "Ghost" on the index and pointer fingers over Ulta "Dance Teal Dawn". Cute name, eh? "Dance Teal Dawn" is a deep teal polish with a slight purple sheen that looks amazing in the bottle but doesn't quite transfer over on the nails.

Blue Nails for Autism Awareness
A few days ago, I received an email from Jasmine over at ColourCoated.com about showcasing blue nails in honor of Autism Awareness Month:
"In case you were unaware, April is Autism Awareness month, and April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day.
Everyone is encouraged to wear blue in order to raise awareness, encourage early diagnosis and early intervention and to celebrate the lives of those that we care about who have autism.
A very good friend of mine has 2 young children with autism, and I used to teach children with autism, so this is something that is very close to my heart.
The idea to do blue manis for the month of April hit me when my friend asked me if she could raid my stash for blue nail polish to wear to an autism awareness rally.
I think having all of us nail bloggers rockin' some blue for autism awareness is a great way to get word out about the cause.
It's really simple to participate. All you've got to do is paint your nails blue or incorporate some kind of blue into your mani, and post it on your blog."
With that being said, today I have a navy blue polish by Ulta called Blue Streak. I applied two coats for complete opacity.
I do not remember if I mentioned this or not but I did find an Ulta about 35 minutes from where I live. I was so excited and got the boyfriend to take me there. I love the whole layout of the store! I was a bit overwhelmed by the vast amount of items that were there being that this was the first Ulta I have ever been to (plus this Ulta had a salon inside as well), that I decided to just pick up a few polishes and make a run for it. However, I definitely plan on going back in the future because those rows and rows of products just amaze me!
I hope you all participate and show support for Autism Awareness! I will be posting more blue themed manicures during this month!
By the way, notice that my nails are back to being super short? I had a stomach virus over the weekend and I just let my nails go to crap and I cut them all down yesterday!

NYX Round Lipsticks
From Left to Right: Indian Pink, Paris, Femme, Fire, Margarita
From Left to Right: Indian Pink, Paris, Femme
From Left to Right: Fire and Margarita
Let's be honest. I don't know much about makeup LOL I mean, I love watching all the YouTube gurus, looking at hauls, etc. However, I am pretty simple when it comes to makeup. With just a light dusting of powder, mascara, eyeliner and lip balm, I am ready to go. I've been trying to step my game up lately, though!
Since discovering that my local beauty supply store carries NYX products at about half the retail price ($1.49 USD vs. $3.99 USD for the lipsticks), I decided to try out a few of their round cased lipsticks. I have really been loving these! Although they aren't terribly long lasting (but this could be due to my need to constantly lick my lips LOL), they get the job done. The colors are vibrant and the consistency is creamy.
The two that I have been wearing constantly are Indian Pink and Paris. Do you have any favorite NYX lipsticks? Recommendations of NYX products?

Never Thought This Would Happen...
I just hit the 100 follower mark!! I honestly never thought my blog would get more than 10 followers, let alone 100! To some, this number may not seem like much but I am overjoyed at the thought that 100 people have enjoyed reading my posts at one time or another.
Look out for a giveaway that I will be posting by this weekend! Thank you all!
